Spectacular 5-days trekking of medium difficulty in the South West of Sardinia, on the Coast of the mines, with views on the transparent sea of the Iglesiente. Almost always halfway up the coast, the trekking allows you to visit all the wonderful beaches and mining sites immersed in the Mediterranean coast, real natural monuments in one of the most interesting geological landscapes.
The treks are on average 10/12 km long with a maximum uphill of 500 metres, suitable for those who are in good shape, but without particular technical difficulties.
The proposal is to walk a large part of the coast of the mines always staying in the same place, the beautiful Pedra Rubia B&B by the sea, making use of a transfer service to and from the starting points of the trek.

The road leads through beautiful rocks worked by wind and water. We leave the Corbettana cliff on the left, we enter the Guroneddu pine forest for about 400 meters then we return towards the sea and the Guroneddu cliff. We reach the Canal'e Trinca beach, the old tuna fishery now transformed into a holiday village and Porto Paglia.
From here return to Nebida by private vehicle (20 minute transfer, 12 kilometres)
Distance of 7 km - Uphill m. 280 - Journey time 4.00 hours
From the mining village of Nebida another of the most beautiful stretches of the Sardinian coast begins. It is an itinerary from which you can enjoy the view of the 5 stacks: the first is Portu Raffa, then S' Agusteri (of lobsters), Portu Banda, Portu di Nebida and the majestic Pan di Zucchero Stack, 130 meters high. Let's start from the Laveria La Marmora and reach the town thanks to a suggestive stairway made up of 400 steps. After crossing Nebida we go down to the beautiful pebble beach of Portu Banda, we continue to Porto Ferro, Porto Corallo and the beautiful beach of Masua. Possible visit of Porto Flavia, a mining port on the sea, unique in the world. Return to Nebida by private coach (10 minute transfer, 5 kilometres)
Distance of 12 km- uphill 500 m., - Journey time 6 hours
From Nebida we take a private vehicle towards Masua (10 minute transfer, 5 kilometres) and continue the trek towards Cala Domestica. We gain altitude and head towards Monte Nai passing over the Masua cliff. We continue on the path from where the view opens up on the Faraglione Pan di Zucchero and extends up to Cala Domestica. We go down to the Cala di Canal Grande to enjoy the view of the Grotta delle Spigole (natural gallery crossed by the sea). After a break, we go up the dirt road towards the north until you overlook Porto Sciusciau with its cliffs a hundred meters high that plunge into the green sea, from here you can admire the Su Forru Cave.
Continuing we pass under a bridge of the old railroad that connected the Gutturu Cardaxiu mines with the sea and we reach Cala Domestica with its fine sand and crystalline sea. Now you can rest, take a well-deserved swim and visit the Spanish Tower (from the end of the 18th century) and Cala Lunga, a small beach that can be reached via a mining tunnel. Return to Nebida by private vehicle (20 minute transfer, 14 kilometres).
Distance of 7 km - uphill 450 m. Journey time 4 hours
Let's start from Cala Domestica, the second smallest cove that can be reached via a tunnel dug in the mining period, to facilitate the transport of minerals. We head into the small canyon behind the beach to go back up and enjoy the panorama of the Cala Domestica fjord from an exceptional point of view. Then we head north along a path a few meters from the spectacular white limestone cliffs overlooking the sea, delighting us with a unique view of the rocky coast. We arrive at the remains of the ancient abandoned village of Pranu Sartu. Then we will begin the descent towards the village of Buggerru, which we will visit to identify the symbolic places of the mining epic of the Société de Mines de Malfidano, the French company that transformed a settlement of shepherds into what was called la Pétite Paris at the beginning of the 1900s, a modern town with Art Nouveau villas, theatre, cinema, telegraph and boutiques with French fashion. We will visit the places where the massacre of the miners of September 1904 took place which led to the take-off of the workers' struggle throughout Italy.
Relax in one of the clubs in the town or on the beautiful beach next to the tourist port (30 minute transfer, 16 kilometres).
Distance of 12 km - Uphill 428 m. - Journey time 6.00 hours
The trek starts from the suggestive promontory of Capo Pecora (40 minutes transfer, 28 kilometres), just north of Portixeddu beach.
It allows you to reach the wild beaches of Scivu through the "Natural Reserve" of the same name. Capo Pecora is a unique place due to the granite composition of its cliffs. The pink color of the granite contrasts with the deep turquoise of the sea. The route winds its way northwards overlooking the sea along paths and mule tracks, following the routes of the goats that graze in this uninhabited area. Having reached the highest point of the route m. 190, at the lookout tower, it is possible to look northwards, glimpsing the beaches of the Costa Verde from Scivu to Piscinas. We go down rapidly and we reach the very extensive beach of Scivu (about 3 km long) with "singing" sand. Trampling the very fine grains, a particular noise is heard which seems to be a sound. Stop and bathroom. Now return to Capo Pecora on a path higher than the coast. Back to Nebida (40 minutes transfer, 28 kilometres).
