Easy and panoramic trek from the Porto Paglia beach to the small and wild beach of Guroneddu.
We start near the buildings of the old seventeenth-century Tonnara of Porto Paglia, now used as a summer residence, to walk halfway up the coast towards the South, often walking on the beautiful sand dunes preserved by the lush vegetation.
You go up and down on an easy but extremely panoramic route, always close to the sea, characterized by the typical shrubs of the Mediterranean scrub such as the yellow cistus, the wild broom, extraordinary specimens of prickly juniper, meadows of Hottentot fig.
The scenery is always of great charm and offers extraordinary views of the sea, such as when you see the fisherman’s “church”, an ancient building right on the water, or the ancient defensive tower of Porto Paglia, also now completely surrounded by the sea .
Thus you arrive at the completely free beach, reachable only on foot, of Su Goroneddu, marked by pebbles made of stones worked by the sea and by the ancient Sa Canna stream, which flowed here. Behind us the rocky bastion of the Guroneddu cliff.
The return loop will be along a more internal route on a path literally made of sand. Here we will admire centuries-old specimens of prickly juniper.
We will arrive at the ruins of an ancient building of the Porto Paglia mine and then we will descend towards the starting point of the trek.
